Hearing from GOD

Hearing from GOD

On January 23, 2024 I was convicted to journal for 30 days to gain clarity on 4 significant tasks God had placed on my heart to pay attention to.  One of the tasks was to pay attention to divine appointments God would provide me to take action on. Every day for those 30 days, I acknowledged a significant divine appointment. As an example: after journaling the morning of the first day, I went to see my mom for a weekly visit. She passed comfortable about 3 hours after I arrived. God had prearranged for me to be there.

At the end of the 30 days of journaling I had clarity with all 4 tasks God had directed me to pay attention to. Since then I have encouraged many people to pray (and journal) for a designated period of time to gain clarity on what GOD would have them do, when they are facing a difficult and significant decision. Many of those individuals reported back to me the clarity they gained by seeking God’s direction each day.

This morning I was convicted to journal for the next 30 days, asking GOD to make it clear to me each day what I should focus on for the day. Today while journaling, God further convicted me to write a weekly blog for the next 3 months. This is the first blog.

My being faithful to write and publish a weekly blog is dependent on:

  1. My confidence in GOD to communicate to me personally.
  2. Me honoring my commitment to write a weekly blog.
  3. God inspiring me of what to write about each week and helping me protect my schedule to complete this assignment.

It is not dependent on:

  1. A set number of people signing up to receive this weekly blog.
  2. How much positive (or negative) feedback I receive.
  3. Me being in the right mood or being well rested to complete the task.

My prayer today is for this blog to encourage you to:

  1. Listen for God to direct your steps.
  2. Honor your commitments.
  3. Leave results to God.

Life is a journey. Let each of us enjoy our journey with God, accept His grace when we fall short, and trust God when life doesn’t make sense to us in the present.
