From earth we came and to the earth we shall return.
Or do you prefer:
From dirt we came and to dirt we shall return.
Today, I watched a movie on Angel Studios, “Green and Gold.”
The message impressed on me from watching the movie was: everything in this world will one day pass away. What remains at the end of life, is simply – did we do what was right?
A banker repossessed some cows from the farmer because the farmer was not able to keep up with the payments on the cows.
Milk prices were fluctuating more significantly than normal this particular year. At the time the price paid to farmers continued to drop. Many of the local farmers were struggling.
Near the end of the movie, the same banker lost control of his car and runs off the road in a ditch on his way to repossess the farmers farm, because the farmer was behind on the payments.
Yet, the farmer pulls the banker back onto the road, because it is the right thing to do.
You will need to watch the movie for all of the details and the ending. Every movie Kris and I have watched on Angel Studios has been a good, worthwhile movie to see. Wholesome family entertainment.
This one highlighted to me, how often we get confused when we have a difficult decision to make, because we are fixated on how the world tells us to look at life, instead of how GOD created life to be.
We are focused on how we believe we will be impacted instead of how to live for the glory of GOD.
Decisions are confusing, because we are set to follow our dreams, take advantage of every opportunity which comes our way, how will we be impacted by the decision before us right now. This is the subtle messaging we are bombarded with day after day whether we recognize it or not.
Life is much simpler from GOD’s perspective. GOD wants us to help others when we are able, do what is right (according to HIS commands), and to enjoy the fruit of our labor. GOD commissioned us to labor.
GOD, through Scripture has given us some keys to live this way. We are to: think on things which are noble, good, and wholesome; encourage one another to love and good works; love our enemies; do good to those who persecute you; and many more.
When our focus is aligned with how GOD created us, as we are committed to do what is RIGHT before GOD, we experience an inner joy in the midst of chaos.
When things do not work out as we believe they should, we maintain a peace surpassing understanding.
We stop trusting in riches, because our trust is in GOD, even if we do not understand.
Remember, from dust we came, to dust we shall return. Keep GOD at the center of every decision you make.
